Biometric fingerprint reading is reliable secure and above all quick to operate. When a new user has been enrolled, a simple low pressure swipe of the person’s finger or selection of fingers will recognize them and validate entry as appropriate.
Fingerprint readers can be used site-wide or just on high security areas only with standard proximity or magnetic stripe readers used elsewhere. Individuals will have a unique database record even when using two access technologies thus simplifying reports and management. With the integration of this reliable fingerprint technology security, reporting and control has never been simpler.
What is Biometrics Technology?
Biometrics technology is an irrefutable verification or identification of a person by various physiological characteristics, which cannot be transferred or copied.
Protecting Your Rights
The integrity of the finger print template is guaranteed. An image of a finger print is not kept or stored The Biometric solution scans the finger tip ridges at a very low resolution, and translates the scan through an algorithm to a number. Only that number is stored.
How does it work?
When employees enrol, a template is created which is then stored as a mathematical template for future verification. The image of the fingerprint is not stored at any time.
Finger Print Verification
Finger Print Verification is the process of entering a pin # or using a card and comparing the current scanned image against a stored template. Response time is 1 sec.
Finger Print Identification
Finger Print Identification is using the finger template for comparison. No need to enter a number or use a card. Response time 2-3 seconds.
Enrolling Fingerprints is made easy with an Optical Mouse. With our USB Optical Mouse, you can enrol Fingerprints at the PC within a minute. An instant score is given for the enrolment quality enabling you to re-do the process immediately if needed. High quality enrolment procedure will improve reading time and prevent problems in the future.
Biometrics and Smart Cards
To ensure total personal privacy of the employees' fingerprint database, Fingerprint templates can now be stored on a Smart Card (in comparison to storing an algorithm in the terminal). With Smart Cards, the biometric fingerprint template is stored on the card's internal memory only. The scanned fingerprint is compared with the template stored within the card. This solution not only eliminates employees' privacy concerns, but it also allows for an unlimited number of users per terminal.
